Isopropyl Myristate (IPM, CAS 110-27-0, molecular formula C₁₇H₃₄O₂, MW 270.45) is a polar emollient ester widely used in pharmaceutical and cosmetic formulations as a skin penetration enhancer, emollient, solubilizer for lipophilic drugs, and vehicle for topical drug delivery. It significantly improves the percutaneous absorption of many active pharmaceutical ingredients and is commonly found in topical creams, ointments, lotions, transdermal patches, and veterinary pour-on formulations. IPM is also used as a binder in oral solid dosage forms.
China produces over 50,000 MT of isopropyl myristate annually for pharmaceutical, cosmetic, and industrial applications. Our ester production facility in Guangdong Province manufactures 8,000 MT/year of pharmaceutical-grade IPM through direct esterification of myristic acid and isopropanol using acid catalysis, followed by vacuum distillation for high-purity product.

Supplied in 190 kg steel drums, 200 kg HDPE drums, or 1,000 kg IBC totes. Store at 15–25°C in sealed containers, protected from light and heat. Shelf life is 24 months under recommended conditions. Non-hazardous for transport. Container loading: approximately 16 MT per 20′ FCL in drum packaging; 18 MT in IBC configuration.
