Product Overview & China Production Capacity
Magnesium Sulfate (CAS 7487-88-9, molecular formula MgSO₄ / MgSO₄·7H₂O, MW 120.37 / 246.47) is a versatile inorganic salt used extensively in pharmaceutical manufacturing as an osmotic laxative, electrolyte replenisher in parenteral solutions, anticonvulsant (IV magnesium sulfate for eclampsia), drying agent, and excipient in topical preparations (Epsom salt formulations). It is listed on the WHO Model List of Essential Medicines for treatment of eclampsia and severe pre-eclampsia.
China is the world’s largest magnesium sulfate producer with annual capacity exceeding 3 million MT across all grades. Our production facility in Shandong Province produces 100,000 MT/year including pharmaceutical-grade anhydrous, monohydrate, and heptahydrate forms, utilizing high-purity magnesium oxide and sulfuric acid reaction followed by controlled crystallization.
Manufacturing Standards & Quality Assurance
Our production operates under pharmaceutical quality controls with ISO 9001:2015 certification. The product meets USP/NF, EP, BP, and ChP monograph specifications for Magnesium Sulfate in all hydration forms. We produce separate injection-grade (endotoxin-tested) and oral/topical-grade materials on dedicated production lines with appropriate environmental controls.
Quality testing includes assay (complexometric titration), identification reactions, pH, heavy metals, arsenic, lead, iron, chloride, loss on drying/ignition, selenium, and microbial limits. Injection-grade material undergoes additional bacterial endotoxin testing (LAL method) and particulate matter analysis. Each batch is released with complete COA documentation.

Packaging & Export Logistics
Available in 25 kg PE-lined woven bags, 50 kg bags, 500 kg and 1,000 kg FIBCs. Injection-grade material is packed in 25 kg fiber drums with double PE liner. Store in a dry, cool place at 15–25°C. Heptahydrate should be protected from excessive heat to prevent dehydration. Shelf life is 36 months (heptahydrate) / 48 months (anhydrous). Non-hazardous for transport. Container loading: 25–27 MT per 20′ FCL.
We ship from Qingdao, Shanghai, and Lianyungang ports with established routes to global pharmaceutical markets. Complete documentation package includes COA, MSDS, DMF reference, and injection-grade endotoxin certificates.
China Supply Advantage
China’s dominant position in global magnesium sulfate production enables pharmaceutical-grade pricing 50–65% below Western manufacturers. Our access to high-purity domestic magnesium oxide resources and efficient sulfation technology delivers world-leading production economics for all pharmaceutical grades including injection-grade material.
MOQ is 1,000 kg with 5–7 business day lead time from stock. We maintain 2,000+ MT ready inventory of pharmaceutical-grade heptahydrate. Anhydrous and dried (monohydrate) forms available with 10–14 day lead times. Volume pricing for annual contracts exceeding 20 MT. Contact us for competitive competitive quotations.
